Prologue: Archetypes

After learning about psychoanalysis, I was inspired by Carl Jung’s four archetypes: Persona, Shadow, Anima/Animus, and The Self. I incorporated these concepts into my portfolio, while sharing my own journey of self-acceptance going through those stages. As a conceptual foundation of my portfolio, I visualized the four Jungian archetypes defining each one as one ‘scene’ of a performance.
In each stage depicted in “Prologue: Archetypes”, I share how I have managed to step away from my social facade, finally accept my weaknesses, and walk outside the box to rise above my hidden self. The journey is visually narrated step by step.
For this artwork, I scripted, storyboarded, and animated within the given parameters of the project. I used Cinema 4D and After Effects to add motion to represent my journey in four stages.
