The Stage of Life
Oil Paint
In this artwork, I explore my experiences in film and my love of stage, which I consider to be the archetype of my true self. The image composed of a spotless white background and random stage set pieces represents the conflict, restraint, and violent impulse to convey to the audience that I understand myself very well. The central character, who is downcast, further exacerbates my wish of being "the authentic myself", while the rough surfaces of every broken piece represent my turbulence regarding an unrealized persona within me. In these details, I try to convey my natural train of thoughts and philosophical reflections about something that has not yet become tangible.
